About figade

figade shrinks a video to a file size you choose, like 20MB for Discord or 18MB for email. You pick the size and it aims to land just under it.

How it works

Your browser re-encodes the video using video features built into current versions of Chrome, Edge and Safari. The video is not uploaded anywhere, so there is no upload wait and no copy on anyone else's computer.

The tool works out how much data per second the video can have from its length and the size you asked for. It then picks the highest resolution that will still look clean at that rate. If the result comes out too big, or much smaller than it needed to be, it adjusts and tries again, up to four times. The size guide shows what that means in practice.

Keeping limits up to date

Discord, WhatsApp, Gmail and Outlook change their limits from time to time, and plenty of guides online still show old numbers. The limits on this site were last checked 29 Sep 2026. If you spot one that is out of date, email [email protected].
